This boat was Sea Ray's 1996 Model year brochure and demo boat
(built in 1995) representing Sea Rays 290 Sundancer line. It was
loaded with every option including, generator, AC, Radar/GPS, AC.
etc. The boat was sold new to a local Knoxville Doctor who kept it
at his homes covered boat dock on a lift. Lightly used, it had 298
hours on it when it was sold three years ago to the current owner
who has put another 45 hours on it (345 hours total time on the twin
Mercruiser 4.3 engines with 775 hours on Kohler generator). As most
reading this know, we all want a low hour boat but the potential risk
from a lightly used low hour boat is hidden in unforeseen
and costly maintenance items that show up when you start using your
boat. The current owner took on the task of updating and replacing
those items spending over 15,000 refurbishing to like new mechanical
condition. Highlights include, May 2015, bottom paint, new anodes,
props balanced, March 2016 new sunbrella Bimini, new trim tab
cylinders refitted with Bennett kit, new shift cables/boots. April
2017, new batteries, complete rebuild of out drives including, new
bellows, gimbal bearings, shift cable, U-joint bellows, shift
bellows, water intake hose, gear lube hose, trim senders, set trim
limit and adjust shift, replaced shifter bushings in bell housings,
replaced port seal/carrier on drive shaft, replaced prop shaft seals,
installed new impeller kits, new anodes. Also installed two new
Carburetors and replaced hose and clamps on water heater. Sept 2017
New helm controls (shifts easily and smoothly) New tachometers, new
out drive trim gauge, new starboard engine distributor sensor. New
fresh water pump and new stern bilge pump.
